About Us! Meet the team

Hello from Chuck

chuck (4K) I'm a semi-retired construction professional, with over 40 years experience in business. I've worked all over the world in my earlier construction work and have spent the past 24 years studying and working in the field of Direct Marketing. I was an English major in college but worked in construction to support myself and my family because I couldn't find a way to survive using my education in English.

Now, I'm a published Direct Response Copywriter - you know, the guy who writes those sales letters and marketing messages you see everywhere these days. I've owned my own Marketing businesses and have run direct marketing campaigns for many different companies. One of the biggest succeeded in increasing patient numbers for Cosmetic Dentists. I finally made the education pay!

Hey, don't run away! I'm not here to drill teeth or plan new campaigns, this website is where I can be myself, share my passion and tell my story. This time I'm here to help you and be helped by you.

I'd been tortured for years by the frustrations that come with writing and publishing a book, plus, nobody seemed to care about selling them once they were printed. I found no one out there willing to help someone unproven like me…no agents, publishers, or other individual or organizations that seemed willing to help, so I decided to go it alone.

Since then I have ghost written two books and have three of my own books in the works, one of which will be featured on this website in the near future. If I told you that you'll find bits and pieces of this book all through the website could you guess what it is about?

It's been a long journey - but a meaningful one. Along the way I discovered some really wonderful people, resources, and organizations that were there, willing to help. I found that the traditional publishing industry is very quickly being consumed by the new wave of self-publishers and a whole new related industry that are now present and active in the marketplace.

In short, I've answered all of my previous questions and solved all of my old problems, plus, I've created a series of systems and networks to make my writing and publishing life easier.

I want to share that with you.

My dream and my desire is to build a network or family of writers and authors, who, like me, want to write and publish books and need help along the way. Some of us will know more than others and some will be pure newbies, but we will work together, help each other, answer questions, give advice, and in the end we will produce some really wonderful, worthwhile, works of art - called Books.

Contact me, or any of the team, at any time, with your questions and comments. Join our list, receive our newsletter, visit our website often, and let's work together to make our projects successful.

So let me introduce the rest of the team, Carol, Cynthia and Tim!

Hi from Carol

carol (5K) You could call me the Web 'Mistress', so if you find anything wrong on the site it is probably my fault.

As a child, if you gave me a pen and paper, I would entertain myself for hours writing stories or pages and pages about my favorite things. When I was 13 I was given an assignment in English class to write a short story to be completed at home. My short story ended up filling two exercise books and achieving the highest mark possible.

Fast forward to adulthood, and you would find me scribbling in a diary about the day's events or letting my imagination run riot inventing characters and putting them into difficult situations.

Although I had always dreamed of writing a book, it took me until I was in my 40s to actually do so. As a keen needlewoman I enjoyed teaching embroidery techniques to private students, who kept clamoring for me to write the information down in a book.

After speaking to a friend here in the UK, also an author, I came to understand the difficulties of getting my book published by going the standard route. She explained that her non-fiction book had only earned her a small amount of money and although many would-be readers had missed out on the initial print run the publisher refused to reprint. What's more, they had lost all the original photographs!

I decided to self publish my book, and not knowing any other way to do it at the time, I purchased computer equipment, a binding machine and a color laser printer with which to do the job. Happily, another friend knew how to edit and proofread my draft copy, allowing the book to be ready for sale within eight months.

Through my own efforts, I managed to sell over 2000 copies to students and mail-order customers before using some of the information in the book to create an e-book version which still sells from one of my websites to this day.

Once introduced to computers, and especially the Internet, nothing could stop me. After my first website was set up two more followed in quick succession, and I found myself being asked to write websites for other people. The thrill of regularly finding clients' websites on the first page in Google or Yahoo after a search is hard to beat.

I look forward to working with you, and perhaps creating your website to promote and sell your own book.

Hi from Tim

tim (4K) I love books and writing! My first book was published this year and I'm very, very, proud of it. I have two other book projects in the works and, I can honestly say, I really enjoy the whole process.

My true love however, is motivating people. For years, I have worked as a trainer and teacher. I have been the inspirational and motivating voice to real estate agents and others looking to build and grow their respective businesses. It truly is my passion. My greatest joy comes from working with people and helping them to see a way through the proverbial maze that often clouds our visions and dreams. I love to help someone find and recognize their inner strength, then watch as they learn how to turn their ideas into gold. Nothing makes me happier than being able to relish in the celebration and pure joy others experience when they are able to make their dreams a reality.

While I will participate on this site and contribute along the way, my real work will be with the seminars and workshops. I'll be presenting some very powerful events for fellow authors and self-publishers...so, I'm sure we'll meet somewhere along the way.

Please feel free to contact me especially if you're unsure of yourself, stumbling, and feeling a little overwhelmed. I've got some really great news for you! This site and talented team of writers and publishers is here for you...to help you over the humps and get the job done. You're very close!

Best Wishes

Tim
